Ending 2011 With a Bang!
As 2011 draws to a close, we both look back with great pride at all we have accomplished and look forward with great anticipation at all that lies in store. With your support, the Worldwide Fistula Fund has completed our greatest project to date -- construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art obstetric fistula hospital in the underserved area of south Niger (right). With clinical care slated to begin on February 6, women of that region can now rest assured that they have a new ally in their fight to have access to the obstetric care so necessary for the foundation of safe, healthful communities. But though we have come so far, there is still so much left to do. Millions of women are suffering today from obstetric fistula -- a condition that not only has devastating physical effects but can obliterate a woman's sense of esteem, her relations with her husband and family, and her place in the community. Millions of these mothers are thought of as no more than useless burdens and literally left alone to die. In 2011, we took steps to right this wrong. In 2012, our permanent presence in Niger will allow us to do even more. If you have not yet given to the Worldwide Fistula Fund, we urge you to do so before 2011 draws to a close. The WFF is a non-profit 501(c)3 and all donations made to us are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please end your year with a bang by giving to the mothers of Africa today. Donations can be made online at our website (using either Paypal or Network for Good), mailed to P.O. Box 27879, St. Louis, MO 63146 or called in to 314-498-0076.
